A Swimming-Pool Library is a book review blog dedicated to curating literature for queer men. When I was coming to grips with my own sexuality, books like these were my only resource and have played the greatest part in my development as both an individual and a gay man. I think it is important to see ourselves reflected in our culture, and my goal here is to gather together a wide range of texts that allow us to do so.

Unlike other review sites, A Swimming-Pool Library does not attempt to evaluate and rank books based on personal or genre criteria. Every book listed on the site contains (in my opinion) something of value for queer men, and is accompanied by a short review to help the reader decide whether or not they’re interested. Books are tagged by genre, difficulty, and subject matter to help users find what they’re looking for.
